People need to realize that ocean pollution can affect everyone. Its consequences are already visible, we see trash on the sand and in the water when visiting the seas, and we hear news about marine animals suffering because of plastic straws, bottle caps, and more!  We see these cases but some choose to bat an eye. And that's what is causing this problem to worsen. Our ignorance is slowly killing the life on Earth and it is vastly, truly, really, real.
